Matt Bennett received this year’s Play It Forward Award
On May 18, 2017 the Play It Forward Foundation presented Matt Bennett with a Play It Forward Award.

The Play It Forward award is given out to someone in the hockey community who we feel embodies the mission and values of our organization.

Because Matt has devoted so much time to the Monarchs special hockey program, it was only fitting that the award was presented at a Monarchs fundraising event.  The Monarchs were hosting a NJ Devils Alumni game featuring former Devils players Bruce Driver, John MacLean, Ken Daneyko, Colin White, and others.
Matt was presented with his award before the puck was dropped for the charity game.  In addition to presenting Matt with this award, the Play It Forward foundation also donated $250 to the charity of Matt’s choice, the Monarch’s special hockey team.

Promoting the ideals exemplified in people like Matt is part of the core mission of the Play It Forward Foundation.  This mission can only be accomplished because of the generous contributions from the hockey community.

The team playing for the Monarchs wait for the puck to drop as the Star Spangled Banner plays.
